Krolkiewicz, Ralf-Günter
Ralf-Günter Krolkiewicz was an actor and director. When he was younger, he was also a member of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany, but left disillusioned in 1982. In his private notes, he reflected on his circumstances and sometimes he held readings of them. In a secret search of his apartment, the State Security discovered these notes. He was arrested in 1984 and sentenced to one and half years imprisonment for "public denigration". In 1985, the Federal German Republic "bought" his freedom (paid an amount of money to the GDR to liberate him and made him leave the country). From 1997 till 2004, he was artistic director of the Hans-Otto Theatre in Potsdam, where he also worked when he was arrested.
