Józef Robakowski, asked by the journalist, what artworks from the Exchange Gallery’s collection he admired the most, answered that he felt lucky to have all of his collection. However, he mentioned the work by Jiří Kolář, highlighting that the author is the greatest Czech artist. The work by Kolář in the collection of the Exchange Gallery is the Composition from 1979. The collage pictures two photos – man and woman – placed in the front of pieces of texts. Kolar, poet, dramatist, graphic designer, well known for his surrealistic inspirations, created a vague, poetic picture. The image of the man is pasted in a photo of a table with bowls and pots on it. The man looks forward; the woman’s face is distorted, her eyes look to the left. As Isabelle Schwarz pointed out, Robakowski’s favorite works in the collection were gained from personal contacts with their creators.
