Articles in the Új szó (New Word) newspeaper are a very important part of József Gyönyörs legacy. Új szó is a Hungarian-language newspaper. It was established by a Party order in December 1948. The newspaper repeatedly defended the minority rights of Hungarians in Czechoslovakia.
Gyönyör wrote articles for the Új szó newspaper from 1968 onward. In his articles he analysed the situation of the Hungarian minority.
