After Gáspár Nagy’s death in 2007, his family decided to establish the Gáspár Nagy Foundation in order to preserve his memory and pass on the “truly Hungarian and Christian values” in which he believed to later generations by setting an example to follow. The Foundation was launched in 2009. It has been supervised by a board of trustees. Plans were made in the spring of 2009 to turn Nagy’s house of birth into a memorial site where summer camps for youths would be held. This was a crucial part of a larger effort to draw attention to Nagy’s oeuvre, integrate his works into the core of the Hungarian literary canon, and cultivate local cultural life, and boost cultural tourism in the region. In the autumn of 2010, the Foundation turned to the Petőfi Literary Museum (PIM) for professional support with the aim of creating a collection to be exhibited at the memorial site. On 28 September 2013, the Memorial House was opened. Ilona H. Bagó of PIM curated the exhibition entitled Valaki ír a kezeddel... [Someone is Writing through Your Hand...] in collaboration with Nagy’s widow, Márta Szabó, and literary critic Györgyi Pécsi. Pécsi was responsible for the texts and Gyula Kemény for the visual design. Ernő Kiss and Endre Nagy did the interior design, using restored furniture. Graphic design and typographies were created by Árpád Fakó. The exhibition suggests to viewers that there is no meaningful life without belief in God.
