The National Endowment for Democracy (NED) is a private, nonprofit foundation dedicated to the growth and strengthening of democratic institutions around the world. Each year, NED offers more than 1,700 grants to support projects undertaken by non-governmental groups abroad who are working for democratic goals in more than 90 countries.

Kosovo Oral History Initiative has been funded by NED on 2015. The funds were never specifically for oral history research on women activists, but they began with them and their first 15 interviews were with women.
