According to the new territorial organisation, which was enacted by the Constitution of Socialist Republic of Croatia Vinkovci Municipal Assembly was founded in 1963. Since 1974 that Municipality was a part of Union of municipalities of Osijek until the fall of the socialist regime and the new transformations of territorial organisation of the Republic of Croatia in 1993. In 1963 the Commission on Religious Matters of Vinkovci Municipal Assembly began to work which was charged to control religious institutions on the territory of Vinkovci Municipality.
